Delta Management Network introduces Evidence-Based Practice (EBP) in the Change Management context.

EBP entails making decisions about how to manage strategic change by integrating the best available evidence with practitioner expertise and other resources, and with the characteristics, state, needs, values and preferences of those who will be affected. This is done in a manner that is compatible with the organizational context.

Evidence is comprised of research findings derived from the systematic collection of data through observation and experiment and the formulation of questions and testing of hypotheses” (www.ebbp.org).

A prerequisite for working with EBP is that you have broad experience and in depth knowledge in the field in which you operate.

The way the General Change Pratitioner works is by trial and error and based on the learnings, extracting tools and methods that are verified and made operational.

Client Resources

The last and probably the most important element of EBP is the actual resources and capabilities of the client organisation.

By engaging directly with key stakeholders the applied methods and tools are determined. It makes Little sense when working with change to pre-deterimibe approach and strategies since at the end of the day the actual execution has to be carried out by client resources.
